HANDSHAKE TERMS OF SERVICE

1. ELIGIBILITY (18+ U.S. ONLY) & SOCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY LEDGER ONLY

Handshake is available strictly to individuals who are at least 18 years of age and reside in the United States. Handshake is a peer-to-peer social accountability ledger and reputation tracking utility operated by Mirdain Group LLC. Handshake is NOT a bank, escrow agent, payment processor, money transmitter, debt collector, or gambling/wagering platform. Agreements recorded on Handshake are social commitments only and do not constitute legally enforceable contracts.

2. TOKENS & CRED

• Tokens are non-monetary, non-transferable in-app utility units used to propose and accept agreements (10 Tokens per active agreement). Tokens have zero cash or monetary value, cannot be purchased for cash, and cannot be redeemed, exchanged, or cashed out for fiat currency, cryptocurrency, or anything of monetary value.
• Cred is a non-monetary social reputation score reflecting a user's historical reliability on completed agreements within the Handshake app.

3. THEORETICAL / SOCIAL MEMOS ON PREDICTIONS

Handshake does not custody, escrow, transfer, or enforce fiat currency, prizes, or real-world wagers. Any figures or forfeits entered into an agreement or prediction memo are recorded strictly for social tracking, theoretical scorekeeping, and amusement between peers. Users are strictly prohibited from using Handshake to conduct unlawful gambling, sports betting, or bookmaking.

4. FINAL IN-APP AI MEDIATION (NOT ARBITRATION)

When an agreement enters a disputed state, both participants have 48 hours to submit written statements and optional photo evidence. Once both parties submit evidence (or after 48 hours if a timeout is claimed), an automated AI Mediator (powered by Google Gemini) evaluates the agreement terms and submitted evidence to issue a final in-app ruling:

• Winning Party: Unlocks their 10 locked Tokens and earns completion Cred.
• Losing Party: Forfeits their 10 locked Tokens (burned) and incurs a −5 Cred penalty.
• Inconclusive: Both parties unlock their 10 locked Tokens with 0 Cred change.

Not Legal Arbitration: AI Mediation is an automated in-app game/reputation mechanic only. It is not arbitration under the Federal Arbitration Act or any state law, does not create or adjudicate any legally enforceable right or financial obligation, and affects only non-monetary in-app Tokens and Cred (with no human appeal or reversal process at launch).

5. USER CONDUCT, REPORTING & MUTUAL BLOCKING

Users may not create agreements involving illegal acts, harassment, threats, violence, sexually explicit content, or prohibited wagering terminology. You may report abusive agreements or block any user directly from the agreement menu, and manage blocked accounts at any time under Settings → Blocked Accounts. Mirdain Group LLC reserves the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

6. ACCOUNT DELETION & PRIVACY

Our collection, use, and retention of data are governed by our Privacy Policy & AI Processing Disclosure. You may delete your account at any time in the app or via our Account & Data Deletion page.
